Is Itefaaq only for doctors?
Yes, deliberately. Itefaaq is for Muslim doctors in the USA — physicians, residents, fellows, and dentists. We're not a general Muslim professionals network.
Do you verify members?
No — and that's deliberate. We don't verify anyone or vouch for any member. Instead, we give you free tools to verify others yourself: our NPI doctor lookup, video calls before meeting, and wali involvement. See how to verify before you meet.
Do you run background checks on members?
No. Itefaaq does not conduct criminal background checks, screen for sex offender registration, or verify members' identities. Never rely on the platform to tell you whether someone is safe — always verify before you proceed.
Can my wali or family be involved?
Yes. Guardian involvement is optional but built into the platform — from a simple contact field to full chaperoned messaging and a companion login for parents. See our wali & guardian features.
What if someone from my hospital is on Itefaaq?

Do you support both Sunni and Shia members?
Yes. Sect and madhab are searchable filters, and you can set your own preferences for who can view your profile.
What happens after I match with someone?
You can message, schedule a video call, or request a family introduction directly — whichever fits your comfort level and values. Messaging unlocks only after mutual interest.
Is Itefaaq really free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy — no subscriptions, no tiers, no fees. The platform is free and stays free.
